She was born in Portland on May 9, 1926 to parents Luther and Roselee West. Jean graduated from Girls Poly High School.
She married Fred A. Gibson on February 21, 1964. Together they raised their three children and shared fifty-one years of marriage.
Jean worked as an administrative assistant and was a loving mother to her family. She lived a life that was devoted to Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. She had a passion for the cheering on the Portland Trailblazers, gardening, volunteering at school events and functions, and travelling the landscapes of Oregon. She especially enjoyed trips to the Oregon Coast.
She was survived by her beloved husband, Fred A. Gibson; her children, Kathleen Gossett, David Gibson, and Susan Presting; and her grandchildren, Pam Hren, Jamie Aneshansley, Bryan Aneshansley, Stephanie Presting, Alex Presting, Shannalei Seau and Ian Seau.
Jean was laid to rest at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery on March 11, 2015. For those who wish to visit her final place of rest, her specific site is in the outdoor mausoleum, Terrace Colonnades 3, Crypt 8286.
