Isaiah "Zigg" Dewayne Hurst

Isaiah "Zigg" Dewayne Hurst, 39, passed away on the morning of January 2, 2022. Isaiah was fatally shot and killed on his way home from his routine breakfast pickup from McDonald's to take his medication for his recently diagnosed Interstitial lung disease.

The family is still trying to adjust to the shock of their loved one's death, the family's grief has been confusing and difficult to bear.

Isaiah Dewayne Hurst, the first born and only son born to Letha Buchanan and Andre Hurst on February 6, 1982, at Legacy Emanuel Hospital, in Portland, Oregon. Isaiah attended and graduated from Grant High School in 2000. After graduation he worked various jobs. He was a hard worker, willing to work any job to support self and family. He loved this city, the Trail Blazers, and his new joy Golf. Hitting balls off the deck at Glendoveer and Colwood, he said it was peaceful, relaxing.

Isaiah a beloved son, stepson, brother, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend known for his devotion to family. His quiet, calm, cool, demeanor was part of his swag. Isaiah's love for his only niece Harlym was a gift to witness the unconditional connection they shared. It was well known if you mess with Harlym expect an unpleasant call or visit. Just saying!

Isaiah's love for his father will forever shine. Though living miles apart, the daily phone calls were a constant reminder of a father and son love that will never divide.

Dewayne or Uncle-Daddy what his mother fondly calls him; said she will miss the one-word response to every question. The conversation debates, and his conspiracy theory explanations!!!!!!!!!!

Isaiah was Preceded in death by Great grandfather Lonzi Harris, Grandfather John Buchanan, Uncle Vincent Thomas, Grandparents Billie Joe and Frances Hurst.
