Ida May (Ida Mae) Adams – devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, went to her well-earned eternal rest on January 10, 2018 in Portland, Oregon.
While never publicly recognized for any of her many accomplishments: wonderful keeper of the home, prized pie maker, accomplished seamstress and terrific volunteer; she quietly demonstrated the type of character described in Proverbs 31 as the woman whose price was “far above rubies”. It says that “strength and honor are her clothing” and “a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised” and “let her own works praise her in the gates”. To Ida Mae, that was the best kind of praise. She was a long-time member of the church of Christ that meets at 160th Street in Portland. She loved the Lord and her brethren and attended every worship service that her health permitted. Her faith was remarkable, and surely we can say with confidence: she “fought the good fight and finished the race” and there is surely “laid up for her a crown of righteousness which the Lord will award to her on that Day”.
Ida Mae is survived by her son, James (Thelma) Adams of Portland, Oregon, her daughter in law Sharron Adams of Moody, Alabama (spouse of late son Richard W Adams), her brother Clyde (Elsie) Landon of Ogden, Utah, her granddaughter Melinda (Erin) Sapp of Vestavia, AL, her great-grandchildren Jessica (Jordan) Welbourne of Roswell, Georgia, Danielle (Joseph) Moffat of Tampa, FL, and Joel (Kelsie) Sapp of Hoover, AL, and Austin and Alexie Adams of Birmingham, AL (children of her late grandson Matthew Adams). She is also survived by one great-great granddaughter Ida Mae Moffat and a soon to be born great-great grandson.
A funeral service will be held in Skyline Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Clatskanie Room, 4101 NW Skyline Blvd, Portland, Oregon, on Thursday, January 18th, 2018, at 12 noon.
Ida May will be laid to rest in Skyline Memorial Gardens in the garden of the Last Supper next to her loving husband Wilbert.
