Gladys was born on October 2, 1921 to George and Yustina Schierman in Endicott, Washington. Later her family moved to Couer D’Alene, Idaho where she made many friends and graduated from
Couer D’Alene High School.
After graduation, Gladys worked in a variety of positions. One of the jobs Gladys had in the early 1940’s was helping build planes for WWII. During the early 40’s is when she also met Charles “Chuck” LeFever and they later wed in July of 1944. Chuck and Gladys fully enjoyed 50 years of marriage before his death in 1995.
Chuck and Gladys had two children, Sharon and David. While Chuck worked for the railroad, Gladys prided herself in being a homemaker and involved mom. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Sunday School Teacher. She was a devoted Presbyterian Church member where she served as a deacon to her church. In addition to her community ties, she also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, baking and much more. Overall Gladys loved life and her joy and happiness is a gift she shared with all.
Gladys was proceeded in death by her parents George and Yustina Schierman; her husband Charles LeFever; her son David LeFever; and her son-in-law Layne Brannan. She will be dearly missed by her daughter Sharon Brannan; her grandchildren Taranna Patton (Mark), Trista Self (Kevin), and Brooke Sleeper (Greg); her great grandchildren Lexi Adams (Scott), Erica Colvin, Stewert Syverson, and Larissa Sleeper; her great-great grandson Klay Adams; and many extended family and friends.
Gladys will be laid to rest with Chuck in a private ceremony at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland on April 19, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be determined.
