Frank Portash, 84, passed away Jan. 11, 2022. He was born in Portage, Penn. On Dec. 29, 1937. Frank graduated from Portage Joint High School where he received his high school diploma. Frank then enlisted in the Air Force and served for 9 ½ years. He became a pharmacist is the Air Force.
Frank was married to Patrica McCoun on Jun. 16, 1962. He had a career in pharmaceuticals for Pharmindex, which he later went on to own. His career in the pharmaceutical industry spanned over 30 years. After retiring from Pharmindex, Frank went on to work for Johnson Air Products, finally retiring to take care of his father-in-law. He was a member of the Pharmacist Association and The American Legion. Frank and Patricia were lovingly married for 60 years.
Frank was deeply religious, and loved his family immensely. He had a passion for sports of any kind, but especially loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. His other interests included: baseball, hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved to attend all of the grandchildren’s sporting events and was always there to cheer them on.
Frank is survived by his three sons: David Portash and wife, Misty Portash, Shannon Portash, and Troy Portash and his wife, Sparkle Portash. He has five grandchildren: Parker Portash and his wife Emma Portash, Mattie Portash, Layne Portash, Sawyer Portash and Sullivan Portash. He has one great-grandchild, Gavin Portash, and a second grandbaby on the way.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:45 am on Fri., Jan. 21st at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Oregon City.
