Elizabeth (God’s Oath) Arleen Hart Conrad was honored to have her Swedish Mother’s middle name as her first name. Having her Mother’s love of family, work ethic and strength to survive adversity were blessings to all of her family.
Born July 17, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri, at age 2 moved with parents, Astrid and Vern Hart, brother, Eldon and sister, Ruth to Pullman, Wa. Graduating from Pullman HS in 1943 she soon left to join Ruth in Portland, Oregon to find work during the war. (But continued to be a faithful WSU Cougar fan.)
In Portland, she met, married and celebrated 62 years with her forever love, Vincent Conrad. Half of those years were spent in St Johns, and other half in Milwaukie, Oregon.
After her husband died in 2006, she moved to Vancouver (Felida), Wa for these last 9 years, close to her daughters. Here she continued the activities she shared with her husband –golfing, bowling, watching sports and celebrations with her family. Elizabeth worked to help support the family from “aisle girl” in the old Portland Coliseum, neighborhood "Avon lady", Western Auto and Cornet Dime store clerk, retiring after 25 years with US Bank.
Elizabeth was true to her name as her lifelong devotion and faith in God never wavered, continuing to read her bible daily, being part of bible study and service groups, bell-vocal choirs as a member of Portsmouth Trinity and Messiah Lutheran Churches.
We lost her Nov.16, 2015 but she found Heaven and Dad!
Her love is continually felt by all who knew her and to us as:
