Eleanor Margaret Larson passed peacefully of natural causes of advanced age at 101, surrounded by her family and caregivers on August 15, 2020. She was born in Grenora, ND on June 22, 1919, raised in Minot and settled in 1945 in Portland with her dear husband of 56 years, Danzle W. Larson. Eleanor was a devoted daughter and sister to two loving brothers, amazing mother to Karen(Jeff) and Jean(Kevin), admired grandmother to Ryan(Kate) and great granddaughters, Emma and Zoey.
Her joys in living included countless hours as a dedicated volunteer for Red Cross, Oregon Election Board, Multnomah Senior Center, Oregon State Extension, Good Sam’s, and a lifelong member of St. Clare church and school. She worked in banking, a school secretary and homemaker between golf games, playing Bunco, RV traveling, exploring recipes and crocheting “scrubbies”by the hundreds. If you were fortunate to know her- remember her “love of life”, embrace it and pass it on.
A private family graveside service will be held at Finley Sunset Hills on Augsut 21, 2020. A rosary and funeral mass will be held August 27, 2020 at St. Clare Church by reservation.
Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
