Don was born in Newport, Oregon. He spent his first 4 yrs at the Yaquina Head Lighthouse where his father was an assistant keeper. His family moved to Milwaukie, Oregon where Don grew up and graduated from Milwaukie High School. He was an auto mechanic by trade and owned his own garage at 42nd and Johnson Creek.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Violet, their daughter Diane and his 2 sisters Kathleen & Wanda. Survivors include his sons Donald & Gary, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and his sister Marguerite.
