Coral Ann Gines passed away in Oregon City, Oregon, at 76 years old on February 21, 2021, after battling Parkinson’s disease for nearly 22 years. She was loved by all who knew her and will be sorely missed.
Coral Ann was born on April 19, 1944, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Peggy and Clifford Pein. Growing up she competed in beauty pageants, danced, and played in the percussion section in her high school band. She graduated from Pocatello High School in 1962. She then attended LDS Business College, while living in Salt Lake City she met Howard Gines through a mutual friend. Shortly after their first date, they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on November 15, 1963. In 1965 they moved to Oregon where she lived for the rest of her life.
Coral Ann enjoyed playing card games, telling jokes, storytelling, spending time with her children and grandchildren, and meeting new people. She loved to serve in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in a variety of callings, including Relief Society President and Stake Primary President. She was always eager to care for those in need and could help anyone feel better with her quick wit and wisdom. She was lively, dynamic, and loving in spite of the suffering her body went through. She stayed with her family as long as she could until her body didn’t let her anymore.
Coral Ann is survived by her husband of 57 years and her children Troy Gines, Toni King, Roger Gines, Michelle Allen, Tiana Phillips, and Meleah Mobley. She’s also survived by her twenty-one grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, her mother, and her siblings Linda Heimdahl, Bob Pein, and Rick Pein. She was preceded in death by her father.
