Carolyn, "CJ" was born in Livermore, California living there most of her childhood. After meeting Jerold Johnson, they wed in 1956 and moved to Gothenburg, Nebraska. This is where they raised their three children Lisa, Sandra and Perry.
She was a housewife devoted to her family. She enjoyed baking, canning, even hunting pheasant with her husband. She was involved in 4-H with her children and taught Sunday school at the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg, NE.
In 1970, she moved to Portland, Oregon where her mother (Marie A. Cameron) and brother (C. Bud Morris) lived.
Carolyn was exuberant, exciting and always open to a good joke or any type of entertainment. She enjoyed playing cards or games with family or friends and traveling to see family, She was delighted when she was sharing her time, thoughts or just listening when one needed a shoulder. Joy came to her from the simple pleasures of life just seeing her loved ones having a good time.
Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world and it filled her heart with joy when her family was together and happy especially during holiday gatherings and vacations. She is survived by daughters Lisa (Sabas) Alfaro, and Sandra Johnson; son Perry (Kelly) Johnson; brother Bud (Diana) Morris; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many friends and family. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband Jerold Johnson, sister Eva Cruise, and grand-daughter Becky Lynn Johnson.
With all her being she lived her life with integrity, compassion and love to those around her. If you were fortunate enough to have met or known her, you could sense that about her within an instant.
Carolyn Marie Johnson was a caring, loving and giving Mother, Grand-mother and Great- Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. We celebrate her life full of love as she lived her life full of love.
