She was born in Milford, MA, the daughter of Francesco and Catherine (Mastrolito) Tieuli. She attended Milford schools and graduated from Milford High School in 1943.
Her first full-time job was in a local factory there that made ponchos for servicemen during World War II. But her life-long career was as a U.S. federal employee who worked for three different agencies: The Quartermaster Corp in Framingham, MA; the Social Security Administration and finally the Internal Revenue Service in Portland. After retirement, Vicky discovered the joy of sport. She was an inveterate golfer, played tennis, and loved walking. She was active almost every day, and for many years into her early eighties. She would never refuse a good game of Bridge. She was also a loving, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and caregiver. Her delicious Italian cuisine was near-mystic among her family and friends.
Vicky was predeceased by her husband, Paul M. Folan; an infant daughter, Katherine M Folan; and twelve brothers and sisters. She is survived by her twin brother Anthony J. Tieuli, of Milford, MA; her son John J. Folan and his wife Catherine of Yarmouth; grandson Brian M. Folan and his wife Stephanie of Fort Lauderdale, FL; granddaughter Ellen C. Folan and her husband Anthony Peros of New York City; three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Aidan, and Emilie; and literally scores of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Vicky’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Birchwoods Assisted Living Community in Portland for their compassionate care of Vetrana during the last seven years. And special thanks are offered to family members Cheryl Greaney, Gerry Greaney, Maureen Keeley, and Kay Weidhas for their loving attention and dedication to Vicky over many years.
