She was born March 20, 1925 in Westbrook, the daughter of Frank and Eva (Holt) Riggs.
Ruth and her husband Rod owned and operated Pratt-Abbott Cleaners for over 37 years. During their ownership, they were co-founders of the “Coats for Kids” program.
She was a member of the Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church, Westbrook Senior Citizens, Women’s Fellowship of Westbrook, Kora Shrine Widows and Beulah Chapter OES.
Among many other hobbies and pastimes, Ruth enjoyed knitting, playing card games, bingo, Rummikub and puzzles.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Jeannette Tetrault and her husband Peter, Pat Harford and her husband Don, three grandchildren, Scott Tetrault and his wife Tina, Tom Gervais and his wife Heather, Dianna Sharron and her husband Josh, and six great-grandchildren, Alex, Ale, Dylan, Bryce, Adelind and Parker.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband Rod of 52 years.
Ruth’s family would like to thank the staff at Stroudwater Lodge and the Gosnell House.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 12th at the Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church, 810 Main St, Westbrook. A reception will follow.
Burial will be in the Spring of 2023 at Woodlawn Cemetery Westbrook.
