Bob was born on October 28, 1933, in Rumford, Maine, the son of Telesphore and Celestine Robichaud. Bob was a graduate of Stevens High School in Rumford, and also the Maine School of Commerce in Auburn.
Bob joined the Air Force in 1952 and served for four years as an Aircraft Reporter. He was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, DC. and served in Japan. Once home, he met the love of his life, wife Cory, while working at the West Shore Hotel in Sebago for the summer. They were married on October 25, 1958. Bob worked at A.C. Lawrence Leather Co. in Norway, Maine, and was the president of the Norway/Paris Jaycees. They later moved to New Auburn, where he was personal manager at Knapp Shoe for 22 years. Robert was a loving husband and devoted father. He was a people person who was well loved by all who knew him. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and hunting with his family. In 1989, after their children were grown, Bob and Cory moved to Merritt Island, Florida. He worked and retired from Dillard’s clothing store while there, and then worked another 15 years at the Astronaut Hall of Fame at Kennedy Space Center. He loved this job and met many fascinating people there, and even came to be friends with many astronauts that would come through. Bob loved the Lord with all his heart and loved reaching out and helping others. He looked forward to what he called his “graduation day” when he would be with his loving Savior Jesus Christ. He longed for this day and talked of it often as his health failed, looking forward to it with joy.
Bob is survived by his three children: Mike and his wife Lisa, Terry and his wife Debbie, and Todd Robichaud; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Norman Robichaud.
Bob is preceded by his lovely wife, Cory Robichaud; his parents; sisters, Rita Holt, Claudette Floyd, and Annette Farrington, brother Ernest; and grandson Joshua Robichaud.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for both Mr. Robert Robichoud and his wife Cory, on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1 pm at the West Paris Baptist Church, 14 Church Street, West Paris, ME. Burial will be private
