Lewiston, ME -- A very sweet, gentle, funny and much loved man ended his life’s journey on November 3. Robert Caron was born on May 20, 1938 to Joseph and Valeda (Lavasseur) Caron in Lewiston. He married Jeanne Fortier on June 13, 1964 and they were rarely apart.
He served in the navy aboard the destroyer, Newman K. Perry during the Cuban Missile Crisis participating in the blockade. He worked as an appliance tech for over 30 years.
His interests were varied. He loved debating, harness racing, pool, golf and road trips all over the east coast and Canada. He was a long time member of the Webber Avenue Club. He was first and foremost a family man who cherished those times spent together and loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s activities.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne of Lewiston; son Jaimey and wife Denise of Portland; son Randy and partner Mindy Dunleavy of Portland; and his precious daughter Stacey and her partner Rae Ann Gordy of Portland; and his cherished grandson’s Tyler, Kyle, Jack and Benjamin. He is also survived by his brother, Richard and his wife June of Auburn.
He was predeceased by his brothers Eddie, Leo, Roger and Donald and his sisters Irene, Georgette and Dorothy.
Per Bob’s request there will be no services.
We wish to thank everyone at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough for their gentle caring and comfort for out loved one and the peace and serenity allowed for his family members.
