Philip Thomas Bruns

Phil attended local schools and graduated from Deering High School in 1960. Phil married his wife, Frances, soon after on September 1, 1961. He then began working at various locations, some of which include; Merrill Transportation Co., Texaco Oil (until they closed their Portland location), a short stint being self-employed before finally settling into a position at Headlight Audio Visual until his retirement 9 years ago.

Phil was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portland where he sang in the choir and was on the property commission. He passionately enjoyed fishing, hunting at his camp on Moxie Lake with friends and family, woodworking and helping his friends with projects.

Phil is survived by his wife; Frances, his three sons; Dana S. Bruns and his wife Deena of Cape Elizabeth, David P. Bruns and his wife Susan of Citrus Springs, FL and Darren M. Bruns and his girlfriend Dawn Morton of Limington, his 5 grandchildren; Dylan, Drew, Jensen, Holly and Abbey.

The family would like to invite you to join them at visiting hours on Wednesday, July 20th from 4:00 to 7:00pm at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St, Portland. There will be a service on Thursday, July 21st at 12pm at West Falmouth Baptist Church 18 Mountain Rd, Falmouth followed by committal at Brooklawn Memorial Park 2002 Congress St, Portland.
