Portland- Paul A. St. Pierre Sr., “SAINT”, 49, passed away unexpectedly from medical complications. The son of Raphael St. Pierre and Agatha (Russo) Butcher, he was born on March 26, 1962 in Portland. He attended Portland schools, and graduated from South Portland High School, class of 1980. Following graduation Paul served an apprenticeship with Local 496 Iron Workers Union. He attended SMVTI where he earned his welder certificate. He was a welder for over twenty-five years working for several local companies, most recently for American Aerial. He was proud of the work he did on the “Big Dig” in Boston, and for the work he did in Antarctica at the McMurdo Station. Paul enjoyed hiking, camping, spending time outdoors, and playing with his dogs at East End Beach, especially Titan. For the last year he was employed by the Portland Country Club, a job that brought him much solace. He is survived by the love of his life, Ann, his sons, Paul Jr. and his fiancée Sarah of Freeport, Jon Patrick, and his fiancée Devon of Gorham, and Jim McDuffie and his wife Liz of Washington D.C., his parents Agatha and William Butcher of Florida, and Ralph and Cynthia St. Pierre of Florida, grandchildren Aidan Heath, and Caden and Brady McDuffie, two brothers Ralph and his wife Christina of Augusta, and Fred and his wife Bessie of Florida, and his newest dog Ozzy. He will be missed by many friends and a large extended family. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Sunday November 6, 2011 from 1:00-3:00 PM at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Portland.
