Norman Bud C. Walton

He was born on January 29, 1938, the first child of Norman and Caroline (Waugh) Walton. Bud went to Lincoln Jr. and Deering High School, graduating with the Class of 1957.

He married his soulmate, Claudia J. Plummer, on September 5, 1959. They enjoyed 55 plus years of marriage , raising their son Todd.

Bud loved all sports, especially fishing and golf. He and Claudia spent their summers at camp in Raymond and in later years spent 20 of them camping at Kokatosi Campground.

He joined Portland Gas Light Company in September of 1960, working 40 years before retiring in September of 2000. During that period, he also served 26 years in the Maine Air National Guard, 243rd unit.

After retiring in 2000, Bud and Claudia enjoyed winters in Myrtle Beach, SC, where Bud played lots of Golf. They also went to London, England, Puerto Rico, Jamacia and the Cayman Islands.

Bud was pre-deceased by his parents, his sister, Karen and his brothers, Lew and David.

He is survived by his wife, Claudia; his son, Todd and daughter in-law, Nancy; his two grandsons, Matthew Walton and Lucas Walton; and nieces and nephews.

The family wants to thank the staff on the 5th floor at Mercy Hospital, on the Tyler Suite and a special thanks to Sister Pat Mooney for her unending care, love and compassion.

Visitation will be held from from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Jones Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland. A funeral will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Raymond Village Cemetery.
