Marjorie L. Driscoll, 84, of Portland, passed away November 26, 2011 at St. Josephs Manor. She was born June 5, 1927 in Hartford, CT a daughter of the late Eugene and Margaret (Butt) Sylvester. Marjorie attended Portland area schools including Deering High Schools. She worked as a seamstress at Lermans and also worked for Grants Store.
She was a member of IONA Chapter of Eastern Star, she was a Grand Matron of OES and participated in Rainbow Girls. Marjorie enjoyed crocheting crib blankets for Ronald MacDonald House. She also enjoyed camping in White Mountains, knitting, gardening, reading, puzzles, and BINGO.
Marjorie is survived by her two sons: Robert F. Driscoll Jr and his wife Frances of Portland, and Joseph R. Driscoll and his wife Kathleen of Yarmouth; grandchildren: Melinda Braun and her husband Donaven of Tennessee, Adam Driscoll and his wife Lynette of Colorado, Mary Frances Brown and her husband Clayton of Westbrook, Becky Driscoll of Portland and Joshua Driscoll of Pownal; great-grandchildren: Ella Braun, Donaven Braun, Sadie Jane Marie Brown and Piper May Driscoll; She will also be missed by her loving twin sister Margaret Adams and her husband George of Portland and sister Barbara Conley of South Portland.
Marjorie was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert F. Driscoll Sr in 1999 and by her sister Grace Herrell.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 6-8 pm Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St, Portland where a Funeral Service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 30. 2011. Interment will follow at Forest City Cemetery, South Portland.
