Gray, ME- T. Marguerite Howe, 87, former longtime Portland resident, passed away on December 10, 2017 at Ledgewood Manor in Windham. She was born at home in Portland, a daughter of Anthony and Sarah (White) Ferrar. She attended school in Portland and South Portland. She grew up on Munjoy Hill and married her childhood sweetheart, Carl Howe, at age 16. She and Carl were married for 61 years at the time of his passing in 2008. She worked in retail in her younger years. She later worked at Maine Medical Center where she was a dietician. She retired from Key Bank in 1992 where she was a teller. She and her husband travelled throughout the country attending many Trinidad Seabee reunions and hosted the last Trinidad Seabee reunion in Portland in 2006. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and thoroughly enjoyed her grand, great-grand and great-great-grandsons. She was totally devoted to them and spent time with her family weekly. She was great cook and was known for her Lasagna.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband; an infant son, Carl Jr.; three brothers, Leo, Harold and James.
She is survived by a daughter, Evelyn Moreau and her husband Michael of Gray with whom she lived; grandson, Gregory Carl Moreau and his wife Majiq of Bolsters Mills; great-grandson, Nickolaus Moreau and his partner Kyla of South Paris and the love her life, great-great-grandson, Cameron Carl Moreau; a sister, Mary Profenno of South Portland; a special friend, David Merrithew; and a special niece, Carol Peckham of Stafford, CT. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A visiting hour will be held from 11-12 pm on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Jones Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland, where a funeral service will follow at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Forest City Cemetery in South Portland.
