Yarmouth. Linda was born in Portland, Maine on April 28, 1948 to George C. Davis and Ramona N.
Davis. Linda attended Portland schools for several years before moving to Cumberland, Maine where
she graduated from Greely High School. Linda’s career included a variety of positions in the customer
service sector. After raising her children, she re-entered the workforce, eventually becoming Manager
of a retail outlet in Freeport, Maine. Linda was very proud of the work that she did and had
accomplished in her lifetime.
Linda enjoyed experiencing life in other states and countries as a Military Spouse. She was always up for
a good adventure, whether a trip to the ocean, a county drive, or a trip to the casino. Linda was a very
social person, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She could often be found on the
phone getting the daily “scoop”. Linda was most proud of being a mother and raising her children and
enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. In her later years, Linda spent much of her time with her
grandchildren who lovingly called her “Nannie”, attending school plays, making time for after school
pick-ups and packing the “good” snacks in lunch boxes. Linda will always be remembered fondly for her
passion for retrieving the daily mail, her weekly reminders of trash day, and the daily report about the
doings of the neighbors. We will have to get this on our own now. Linda and her infectious laugh will be
dearly missed by all.
Linda is survived by her son Keith S. Stackhouse and spouse Leanna J. Stackhouse of North Yarmouth,
daughter Lori M, Stackhouse of North Yarmouth, grandchildren Colby E, Lewis, Jacob T. Stackhouse and
Kyle N. Stackhouse, as well as siblings Brenda Clark of North Carolina, Pam Dugas of Yarmouth, Kim
Connell of Yarmouth, Carl Davis of North Yarmouth, Mike Davis of Portland. Linda is also survived by
many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and thanks for the compassionate care of Southern
Maine dialysis and Hospice of southern Maine. It was Linda’s wish to be cremated, and there are no
formal services planned at this time.
