March 24, 2023 at the Hawthorne House in Freeport.
She was born on July 4, 1922 in Portland to Albert and Letha Beverage Smith and she was the last of her many siblings. In 1939 she married her sweetheart Freeman B. Forbes and together they raised two children in Portland, Maine.
June worked for many years as a stitcher for Songo Shoe in both Portland and Freeport, Maine. She also did laundry and ironing for her neighbors.
June, aka June Bug was a kind and loving woman. She will be fondly remembered for her huge heart, her warm smile, gracious attitude and thoughtfulness.
She is predeceased by her parents, her siblings, her husband and daughter-in-law.
A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date.
