Summarizing the life of a shooting star is difficult, but here we go. Known to those closest to her by many names, near to our hearts: Juliebug, Juliebear, Jules, Sissy, Kiddo. Terms of endearment that will forever have a home in our hearts. Julie was born prematurely on April 25th, 2002 at Maine Medical Center to loving, excited parents, Beth Joyenne Clark and Theodore Edwin Clark Jr. She was named cleverly after aunts on both sides of her parents, quietly and peacefully she arrived in our lives. Her birth gave her sister, Anna Theresa Skellenger the greatest job she could imagine as an older sister. She is the grandchild of Theresa & Joseph Webber and Patricia & Theodore Clark, and the niece to Beth’s two siblings and Ted’s ten siblings.
Julie went to several different elementary schools including Otisfield, Augusta and Clinton, and most of her high school career was at Mount View High School in Thorndike, Maine. She made friends everywhere she went, making sure that all those who felt shy or alone had a best friend in her. Her kindness encompassed more than just philanthropy, she was an immense animal lover and rescue advocate. So many of these small souls could fit into her hands and slyly found a way to bring them into her home. She raised these small creatures as feverously as their own mothers would have. Julie has left Maple, her dog, Dixie and Oxford, her cats, and Cashmere, her bunny in the loving, caring arms of her mother and family.
She had so many different aspirations, all were more impressive than the last. Her young heart had so many goals and dreams and she was just beginning to accomplish them. Among some of the most amazing dreams; she wanted to be a Maine State Park Ranger, animal rights advocate and Julie had just started carpentry. She was so artistically talented she had paint nights with her mom and sister every time they could spend a night laughing and creating works of art for each other. She also was very talented in tennis and cheering in high school and made lifelong friends in both of those sports.
These paragraphs are contributed from Ted and Beth Clark, in memory of our precious daughter Julie Colleen.
These initial sentiments are written from your Dad. “Jules, you have been my shining light, my baby girl. My heart is broken and I long to hold you in my arms. Thoughts wander to our favorite past times; throwing the ball to each other or just going for a walk together. You were taken from me too soon; I didn’t have enough time with you. My life will be forever changed without you in it. I will hold you again in heaven baby girl, your Dad loves you.”
These sentiments come from your Mom and will never change. “While I am grateful for what God has given me, I cannot help but wish for one more day together. You are my defender, my right-hand girl. Kind and wise beyond your years. Your dad and I are so proud of you. Your laughter brings us to the happiest times of our lives. My Julie bear, my angel, you mean the world to me. I want to hear you tease your big sister. I want to see you defend the vulnerable or offer your insightful opinion. May God and Jesus keep you in the folds of heaven until we meet again my darling girl.”
“In all the world there is no heart for me like yours, in all the world there is no love for yours like mine.” -Maya Angelou
