JULIA HALLORAN JOHNSON, 88, of Portland Maine, formerly of Cape Elizabeth, died on December 9, 2015 at the Gosnell House surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 20th, 1927 in Portland, Maine to James and Mary Slane Halloran. She attended local schools and graduated from Portland High School. She married Everett “Ike” Johnson in 1950 and together they raised their two sons in Cape Elizabeth.
Family was very important to Julie and her happiest times were sharing in their lives with her endearing smile and laughter: The annual Christmas Parties, summers on Little Sebago Lake, many family trips, especially the excursion to Ireland where she connected to her Irish roots. Throughout her life “Nanny” always opened her home to family and friends offering her loving comfort and support. She was also active in the Cape Elizabeth Garden Club, Portland Lioness Club, and volunteered for the Maine Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Everett F. Johnson Sr., of Portland, her two sons, Everett F. & Linda Beer Johnson Jr. of Cape Elizabeth, Stephen M. & Cynthia Rich Johnson., of Yarmouth. She has five grand children: Abigail Johnson Sedenka, Christopher, Eric, and Michael Johnson, Emily Johnson Puopolo and great grand daughter Lydia Johnson.
Funeral arrangements by Jones, Rich, and Hutchins, 199 Woodfords Street, Portland Maine. Visiting hours December 14th 4 to 7 pm. Funeral December 15th 10 am.
