Jane was born on September 28, 1939 in Brockton, MA to Emil J. and Frances M. DesRoches of Andover, MA. She graduated from Punchard High School in Andover in 1957, and moved to the Portland area in 1969.
Jane was a master gardener and an accomplished pianist, serving as the organist for her congregation. She was a staunch advocate for medical research to cure epilepsy and also for animal rights. She traveled extensively with her husband Roy who predeceased her. She is survived by her sister Carol Laucus of Newton, MA, her brother Dick DesRoches and sister-in-law Judith DesRoches of Wakefield, NH, nephew David DesRoches of Lawrenceville, NJ, and nieces Cait DesRoches of Roslindale, MA and Susanne DesRoches of Brooklyn, NY.
A private interment will be held at Southern Maine Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Springvale, ME at the convenience of the family.
