He was born in Damariscotta to parents Herman O Poole Sr and Ruth Poole on May 8, 1950. Herman was companionate and loved spending time with his family. Herman loved playing guitar, singing, music and making his family and friends laugh with comedian acts or jokes. Everyone who knew him loved him, he could walk into a room and make everyone smile. He was a loving husband for over 25 years to Linda (Melanson) Poole.
Herman worked for paving for Blue Rock Industries, B.S. Ingraham, Poole Bros Paving & Excavation, he loved working alongside his sons, grandson and nephews. Herman leaves behind his sons Joseph Poole of Gorham and Peter Poole and his wife Annie of Limington. Grandchildren Rebecca Passino and her husband Philip of Waterboro, Christopher Poole of Gorham, Elisabeth of Limington, Great Grandchildren Zoey and Wyatt of Limington, and Amara Jo of Waterboro, Sisters Peggy Burnham of Buxton and Patricia Forbes of Standish. He also leaves behind his step-brother James Poole Jr. as well as a very extended family including his a sister in law Stella Morton of Westbrook & brother in law Larry Whittier of Portland, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, grandson Joseph M Poole and the mother of his sons Irene M Poole.
A burial service will be announced and held at a later date in the spring with a celebration of life immediately following.
