She was born in Portland Maine on December 11, 1935 and spent most of her life in the “Little Italy” section of Portland. That is where she met her future husband, Anthony Carmine Fornisano. They married in 1958 and celebrated 54 years together. They were blessed with three daughters: Karen Fornisano of Portland, Flo Ellis of Bangor, and Cathy Fornisano and her wife Chris Cole of Windham.
Frances worked hard all of her life. She was a stitcher for Songo Shoes, a meat packer at Jordan’s Meats, and a bartender at Capri in Portland.
Frances and her husband Tony liked to travel when they could. They took trips to Canada, New Jersey, and many visits to the North End of Boston.
She loved to cook for a crowd. Momma as she was known to her daughters’ friends and extended family, made the best meatballs, braciole, hot Italian sausages, and sauce! She enjoyed a good drink and telling stories. Everyone was welcomed!
Frances is predeceased by her husband, Tony, parents Philip and Florence Quatrano, brothers Philip Jr. and Frank, sisters: Geneva and Anna. She is survived by her daughters Karen, Florence, and Cathy, and daughter in law Chris.
A graveside service will be held on Friday November 1st at 1:30pm at Calvary cemetery in South Portland with a reception to follow.
