Elizabeth Warden 88 passed away on November 25, 2017 at the Gosnell House in Scarborough with her family by her side. She was born in Portland, Maine on October 15, 1929. She is the daughter of Herbert E. and Cora May Archibald. Elizabeth married Ivan S. Warden on March 17, 1949. Together they had six children. She worked at Devonshire Manor in Portland, ME for 25 years. After retiring from Devonshire she had the “best tan” as she spent her summers at the lake. She returned to work at BJ’s Wholesale Club as one of their “Demo Ladies” where she retired for second time in 2014. She is a member of Immanuel Williston West Baptist Church. Together with her husband she served the Way Side Kitchen for many years. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time at the lake, playing bingo, knitting and traveling with friends and family.
She is survived by her brother Herbert Archibald and her six children, Herbert Warden, John Warden, Bonnie Roast, Darlene Schelling, Robert Warden and Stacey Tupper. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brother John Archibald and sister Grace Eldridge.
The family invites you to share your stories and offer your condolences on Tuesday November 28th from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home 199 Woodford St, Portland, ME. A service will be held on Wednesday November 29th at 11:00am at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home followed by a committal service at Brooklawn Memorial Park 2002 Congress St, Portland ME.
