Betty was born on May 2, 1929 in Seal Harbor, Maine to Harry Andrews and Blanche (Andrews) Parsons. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years in 2012, Robert M. Chase. Betty was a member of the Mayflower Society and proved throughout her life that she, like her ancestors, could endure.
Betty spent her younger years happily raising her four boys. She and Bob enjoyed many happy years going to their camp on Sebec Lake. Collecting antiques and curios brought her great pleasure and she opened a small shop that she ran for several years. She was a talented painter and left behind many pieces portraying birds and beautiful country scenes. Her true passion, however, was gardening. She was a master gardener for her entire life and kept them up well into her eighties; known for her knowledge of medicinal herbs, she made her own tinctures and salves.
She was a snazzy dresser, had a graceful presence, and had dazzling blue eyes that would take you hostage. She was forthright and would give it to you straight in her charming Mainah accent. Betty made friends wherever she went and always had a cheerful smile and hug to give.
She is survived by her four sons: Michael Harmon and his wife Diana Doyle, Gary Harmon and his wife Betsy, Peter Chase and Scott Chase and his wife Karen; 3 grandchildren: Nicholas, Corey, Amanda
