Elaine I. Gilpatrick

Elaine Irene Gilpatrick, 89, of Portland took her last breath on March 21, 2023 at the Maine Veteran Home in South Paris with her Granddaughter by her side. She was a loving wife, mother, nana, and friend.

She was born to Leonel and Dorothy Connor Vigue on July 15, 1933. After graduating Deering High School in 1951 she went on and received her degree in Becker Junior College. She was married to Richard Gilpatrick on June 23rd, 1956 who passed away on April 10, 2014 after 58 years of marriage.

She loved working in the Radiology Department of Maine Medical Center for 28 years, retiring in 1995. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Portland and served as a lector and Eucharistic Minister. She was a Mercy Associate of the Sister of Mercy of the Americas.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Gilpatrick of South Paris, her granddaughter Jessica Gilbert of South Paris, and her great granddaughters Grace, Sadie, and Annabella, her great grandson, Damien all of Oxford HIlls, and her special friend Sr. Phyllis Doyle.

She was a longtime resident of Deering Pavilion in Portland where she loved the community. She loved taking long drives, dining out, walks, church, and spending time with her family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St Pius X Catholic Church, 492 Ocean Ave, Portland. Burial will be Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
