Our beloved Daphrose was born in 1952 to Gatete Vedaste and Verediane Mukantabana. She took her place to Heaven on Thursday May 15, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. Daphose was married to Joseph Kabanda, with whom she had 4 children- Eric, Aline, Olivier and Simbi Kabanda and 3 grandchildren Ylan Kabanda, Romeo and Enzo Rudaseswa. Daphrose last place of employment was at Maine Medical Center in the department of Environmental Health.
Her parents named her “Umubyeyi”, which means mother. She wore her name with grace and elegance, looking after her direct family, and being a mother to many people around the world. Family was Daphrose priority. She was so proud of the accomplishments of her children, as well as the many family members whose lives she touched. She was fully involved in their lives, always loving, supporting, and sharing the little she had.
Daphrose left the world with a smile on her face that only people who lived a fulfilling life can have. She always laughed about everything, challenges pain and hurt. Her battle with cancer was painful and hurting, but Daphrose never complained about anything and faced this last battle with a constant smile on her face. Daphrose leaves a legacy of love, hope and faith.
