1993 - 2018
PORTLAND - Brandyn Kyle Chretien, 24, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 12:14pm, with his mother by his side after a six month battle with brain cancer. During his fight, he was surrounded by an outpouring of love by close friends and family. He was born in Boca Raton, Florida on October 19, 1993, the son of Jeffrey Chretien and Lisa Richard.
Brandyn lived in Portland his entire life, and graduated from Cheverus High School in 2012. He went on to attend the University of Maine at Orono, where he received his bachelor's degree in Finance. During college he was a brother of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, (A.E.K.D.B.) (A-B). After graduating, Brandyn worked as a loan officer at Consumer Real Estate Finance Company. Anyone who knew "B", knew that he was an avid sports fan. He loved his New England Patriots; especially the "G.O.A.T.", Tom Brady and he admired the talent of "The King", Lebron James. Brandyn played basketball, football and had a special love for baseball. "B" started playing baseball at the age of five and "capped" off his career beautifully in 2011 by winning the State Championship with Cheverus. His love for the game continued through college as he spent his time coaching a middle school team. Brandyn had his few famous sayings, "Trust the Process", "Go Pats" and "Send It". Brandyn was a leader, and his friends always looked to him for advice. He inspired so many people. He will be remember for his sense of humor, wittiness and for always having a way to make people smile.
Brandyn is survived by his parents; his sister, Emily Chretien; the love of his life, Olivia Dam; "the boys"; and a large extended family and many friends.
