Marie Reine Alice Doiron née LeBlanc was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed on to heaven on Monday, November 14, 2022 at home, at exactly 98 ½ years of age.
She was born on May 14, 1924, in Riley, Maine, the 9th of 10 children. On June 5, 1948, she married her loving husband of 31 years, Albert “Tibi” Doiron and had 3 children.
She had a life-long love of reading and education, which she passed on to her children, returning to night school in mid-life to graduate from high school. She loved spending time with her family and extended family, as well as numerous old and new friends. She had various jobs including housekeeping, waitressing, factory work (Dixfield Match Factory, Bass Shoe), and retail.
She had an uncanny way of enjoying all the simple things in life such as conversation, laughter, food, a good book, crafts, coloring, doing puzzles, and she was always walking. She traveled much more than she ever expected, including to the Pacific Ocean, Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, Niagara Falls, New Brunswick, PEI, Quebec City, Washington DC, Gettysburg, New York City, Newport, and at age 90, Disney world, and Universal Studios. She had a great sense of humor and a warm smile that she flashed frequently. She welcomed progress and new technology. She communicated with many people through email and Facebook, using all CAPs, and she appeared to be somewhat of an “influencer” with the large following of her posts.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Albert “Tibi”, her parents, Jude and Alice LeBlanc, and her 9 siblings, Irene Arsenault, Albertine Arsenault, Neil LeBlanc, John “Bucky” LeBlanc, Bertha Pomerleau, Leah Donahue, Evelyn LeBlanc, Violet Bourque, and Leonard LeBlanc (killed in WWII in the Philippines). She will be dearly missed by her children, Iris Hockaday and husband Warren, Marie Hodge and husband Michael, and James Doiron and wife Julie, her grandchildren, Jonathan Connelly and wife Deborah, Matthew Connelly, Benjamin Hodge, Brandon Hodge and fiancé Caitlyn Parker, Alaina Doiron and fiancé Michael De Lucia, Jude Doiron, Alison Doiron, and her great-grandchildren Andrew and Brianna Connelly.
A Celebration of Life and burial at Holy Cross Cemetery will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to Northern Light Home Care and Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
