William Pitzer of Port St. Lucie FL, formerly of Melrose MA passed away on January 12, 2022 at the Treasure Coast Hospice.
William was born in Prospect Park PA on December 26, 1937. When he was a teenager, he joined the Army and served overseas during the Korean war. He was an active member of the Wyoming Lodge in Melrose MA where he was 33rd Degree Freemason and his father William S. Pitzer was a Master in 1957. He worked for Polaroid in Waltham MA for over 30 years and took early retirement to help his wife, Janet, operate the Welles Emporium in Lowell MA.
He leaves his wife Janet of 61 years, son Allen and his wife Susan of South Hamilton MA and daughter Nancy (Plummer) and her husband Gerry of Westford MA. Also four grandchildren, William Pitzer, Alexandra Pitzer, Jason Plummer and Timothy Plummer and three great grandchildren Colin Plummer, Daisy Pitzer and Leo Pitzer.
