On June 10, 2014, Michael J. Salerno, Sr., 67, passed away at his home with family by his side, after a long battle with cancer. Michael was born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 7, 1947 to Dominick Salerno and Antoinette Campo. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Charlene Salerno (Port St. Lucie, FL), two sons: Jason and Michael Salerno Jr. (Susan) both of Port St. Lucie, FL and his sister Lorraine Cangelosi (Perry) of Shirley, NY; six grandchildren: Thomas, Jaiden, Tristen, Peyton, Irelan, and Lily.
Michael was in the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. He earned the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars Army Commendation Medal with V Device Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Nation Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantrynam Badge and was a Rifle Sharpshooter. He was very passionate about his Country and anyone that knew him, knew that.
Michael loved spending time with his family and friends; he also loved sports and boating. Mike made an impression on everyone he came in contact with. He will truly be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be taking place on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 12 pm – 3 pm at the Jensen Beach Community Center on Jensen Beach Blvd. Friends and Family are welcome to attend.
