Gerald Marion Stafford passed away on October 17, 2018. He was born on February 21, 1940 in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Earl Thomas Stafford and Thelma Geraldine Stafford. He is survived by his wife, Reba Stafford, and by his children, Sheri Seale (Randy), Allen Stafford, Lisa Travis (Chris), and Art Stafford (Heather), 13 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Stafford (Della) and sister Jeannie Gibson, and by Faye Davis.
Gerald was a loving and committed family man who loved to spend time travelling with his wife and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a veteran of the Air Force Reserves and the Air National Guard. He has always been very involved in his community as a member of the Jaycees, a Boy Scout leader, a City Council member in Satellite Beach, and a volunteer at local polling precincts.
One of his great loves was serving God through the church and through various ministries. He was a Sunday School teacher, sang in the church choir, worked with a crisis pregnancy center and traveled the world doing international missions. He did mission work in the Ukraine, Moldova, Mexico, and Wales.
He was always known for his quick wit and sense of humor. Always ready with a kind word, he never met a stranger. He was quick to make an impression and to foster relationships everywhere he went, whether with servers in restaurants, neighbors in his community, or friends he made as he served beside them in ministry. In addition he had a strong work ethic, which he passed on to his children. After a career with AT&T, he was always taking on various jobs and volunteer roles. He enjoyed blessing people with his wood-working skills, and often participated in local 5K’s. One thing he became passionate about was photography, and he used his growing knowledge and skill to capture memories and important dates on film. He was often called on to take pictures for events, but he used a lot of his film taking pictures of his family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Berean Bible Church, 480 Cooper Rd, Loganville, GA 30052. The Celebration will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2pm.
