Esther was born in Harbor Springs, Michigan to the late Era and Flossie Ainslie nee Baker. She grew up in West Grand Rapids, Michigan before moving to Lowell, Michigan. Esther relocated to Florida in 1984. She served in The United States Marine Corp. She and her husband owned and operated their own furniture upholstery business for many years. Esther was a woman of faith. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes in her spare time with family and friends. She enjoyed sewing. In her younger years, Esther enjoyed figure skating and camping in Michigan. Family was her life and she adored her grandchildren and any baby that she laid eyes on. Esther had a quiet but caring demeanor. She opened up to those that she really cared about.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis M. Gray; brother, John Ainslee; sisters, Catherine Monique, Beatrice Fritz, and Dorothy Sutton; son, Lonnie Gray; and great grandson, Devon Kurzhals.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn Gray (Bill Catchpole); sons, Gary Gray (Bonnie) and Marty Gray (Yvonne); several grandchildren 6 great grandchildren; along with a huge extended family.
A Memorial Service will be held at a date to be determined.
