Born on April 29, 1928 in Tyler, TX, and was a graduate of Emette Scott H.S. Carl was a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL for the past 22 years.
He was the Co-Founder and last surviving member of the world famous “Coasters”, known for hit songs such as Charlie Brown, Yakety Yak, Youngblood and many others. They were also the first group inducted in the “Rock N Roll Hall of Fame”.
Carl is survived by his wife Veta; his sons Carl, Jr. and Ahilee; his daughers Brenda and Ricki; three stepsons Hanif, Ramon and Wayne; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He is also survived by one brother Howard and one sister, Carol. He will truly be missed.

A Funeral Service will be Tuesday, June 21, 2011, 1:00PM at Morningside Church, Port St. Lucie, FL, with interment following at Fernhill Memorial Gardens, Stuart, FL.
