William Lee Perry, 88, of Port Orange was called home to be with the Lord on May 2, 2018.Bill was born August 23, 1929 in New York and moved to Florida in 1971. Prior to his move, Mr. Perry served his country for eight years in the National Guard, stationed out of New Jersey. Best known as "Uncle Bill", he was dedicated to his brother, Jim, Jim’s wife Bonnie, and their children. He never missed a birthday or any family event. He was the most genuine, kindhearted, giving brother, brother in law and uncle. Bill is pre-deceased by his loving mother and father Jean and George Perry; brothers: Robert, Donald, and Michael Perry; and by his "sweetie", Irene Ferguson. Bill is survived by his three brothers Jim (Bonnie) Perry of Port Orange, Thomas (Anne) Perry of Fort Myers, and Lawrence (June) Perry of Deltona. He will be missed additionally by many nieces and nephews.. Retiring from the postal service in 1991, Bill was a member and tiler at the Port Orange Elks. A devoted member of the Port Orange Presbyterian Church, he loved his church family, and was truly loved by all he met. Visitation will be held Monday, May 7th from 12pm-2pm at Port Orange Presbyterian Church, 4662 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange. Funeral services will begin at 2pm, with Rev. Dr. Calvin Gittner officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local Humane Society, a cause close to Bill’s heart.
