Richard Henry Camino

Richard Henry Camino, age 79, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020. Richard was born August 18, 1941, in Pittsburgh, PA, to his loving parents Ralph and Mary Camino. The beautiful weather and the beach brought Rich to Port Orange, FL, in 1982.

After graduating from Baldwin High School in 1959, he then attended Pittsburgh Beauty Academy where he became a Hairstylist. He was a hairstylist for 46 years and even taught cosmetology briefly at DBCC. He met the love of his life, Diane, in 1960 and they married on October 23, 1965. He was a hopeless romantic and for the first year of their marriage sent her roses on the 23rd of each month. They were married just shy of 55 years. Rich faithfully served his country as a Private in the Army Reserves from 1964-1969. He was a master gardener and loved spending time in his yard. He was so proud of his meticulous masterpieces. He loved to travel and was an excellent cook. Rich enjoyed talking about old cars, all types of music, comedy, his Italian heritage food, music and wine. Family meant everything to him and they were always put first. His kind and caring ways were contagious just like his laugh. He never met a stranger and people were drawn to his radiant light and smile. He was always willing to help neighbors and friends and any job was never too big or too small. He was a very loving and dedicated husband, son, father, Pap, uncle, brother in law and friend and will be missed greatly.

Preceded in death by his parents Ralph J. Camino, Mary (Olivieri) Camino; Rich is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Diane J. Camino, children: Richard J. Camino spouse Jessica Feola, Melissa Hopkins spouse Dennis Hopkins; grandchildren: Zachary, Isabella, Jake, Jayda and Lulu; brother: Henry Camino and spouse Susie Camino; and numerous nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws.

A celebration of life and visitation for Richard will be held Tuesday, September 22, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 S Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, Florida 32129. A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 8:30 AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S Clyde Morris Blvd, Port Orange, FL. A committal service will occur Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, US-19, McMurry, PA.
