Charlie was born in Miskolc, Hungary, and immigrated to the United States with his newly-wed bride, Magda Tamas of Budapest, Hungary in the winter of 1956. They settled in a large Hungarian community in Cleveland, Ohio, where they raised their 2 children, keeping their Hungarian traditions and love of everything Hungarian alive. Charlie was trained as a pastry chef and loved baking all the wonderful Hungarian pastries, sharing them with family and friends alike. He was a baker at the local supermarket until he retired. Once he retired, Charlie moved with his wife to Port Orange, FL, where he was able to enjoy his second passion, which was fishing. He fished almost every day of the year along with continuing his baking that he happily shared with friends and family.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 67 years, Magda, his son Clyde and his wife Cora in Toledo, Ohio and his daughter Magda and her husband Zsolt in Port Orange, FL.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, at Port Orange Presbyterian Church, 4662 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. in Port Orange, with a brief reception to follow.
