Bess was preceded in death by her husband, Alex of 51 years. She is survived by their three children, Mark, Janet, Bruce and six grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Ora and sister-in-law Lucy, nieces and nephews.
Bess was born in Elkhorn, VA on March 9, 1929 to Ervin and Susan Joines. Bess was a Registered Nurse at Saint Mary’s hospital in West Virginia specializing in Obstetrics’ where she met her husband. She always had a place in her heart for children. She loved reading to her children and grandchildren.
Bess was an avid shopper, “Sell” meant “Sale”. Time to shop! She had a collection of shoes every woman would envy and never wore the same dress twice.
Bess enjoyed going to Church, Sunday school and attending life group. Her classmates would ask Bessie how she was and with a SMILE from ear to ear she would say,”GREAT”.
Her smile was infectious. Her smiling ways caught on quickly, and before you knew it, everyone around her was smiling too. She did not have to wait for something to be happy about, she looked for something to happy about.
She loved being around her family and she never lost her faith in GOD and spread the word of God to others.
