Richard Eugene Marek, 75, of Port Lavaca, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 at home in Port Lavaca. He was born in Victoria, Texas to the late Eugene and Audrey Griffith Marek on October 18, 1946. Richard worked in the Oilfield, served in the United States Air Force, and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Port Lavaca.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years; Janice Konrad Marek, daughters; Lindsey Smith and her husband Marshall, and Kimberly Schneider and her husband Matthew, son; Brent Marek and his wife Haley, grandchildren; Logan Smith, Audry Smith, and Baby Girl Schneider on the way. Additionally, Richard leaves behind daughter; Vickie Lynn Robbins along with her sons; Colby Robbins and Blaine Burkham. Richard also leaves behind his brother; Donald C. Marek and his wife Judy, many nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends, all of whom will cherish his memory.
He loved to play golf, fish, and go arrowhead hunting. You could find him at the Wagon Train each morning with the “coffee bunch.” Rickey loved to tell jokes to anyone that would listen and enjoyed making people laugh.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 9-10 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 10 a.m., with Pastor Nancy Jaster of Salem Lutheran Church officiating at Richardson Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow at Six-Mile Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brent Marek, Matthew Schneider, Marshall Smith, Carson Marek, John Trevino and Jason Konrad.
