Leonardo Gutierrez Garcia, 83, of Port Lavaca, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at his home in Port Lavaca. He was born in Goliad County, Texas to the late Adolfo and Aurora M. Gutierrez Garcia on March 18, 1941. Leonardo worked as a Welder for many years and was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents; Adolfo and Aurora M. Gutierrez Garcia, Leonardo is preceded in death by three deceased siblings, and one grandchild.
Leonardo is survived by his loving wife; Clara Camacho Garcia, daughter; Debra Garcia, sons; Norman Garcia, Edward Garcia, John Garcia, Mark Garcia, and Leonard Garcia Roff, sister; Lupe Gloria, brother; Raul Garcia, twelve grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. In addition, he also leaves behind numerous extended family, all of whom will cherish his memory.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 5-7 pm, followed by reciting of the Rosary at 7 pm, all at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at 11 am at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home with Father Derek Acquah of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at Port Lavaca Cemetery.
Honoring Leonardo by serving as Pallbearers will be; Tommy Camacho, Chaz Garcia, Raul Garcia, Emilio Carabajal, Tristum Mitchell and Juan Caltzonzin.
The family would like to extend their gratitude and a special thanks to Amber for the care that she extended to Leonardo in his final days, keeping him comfortable.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Calhoun County Humane Society, 106 Haley Lane, Port Lavaca, Texas 77979.
