Jesse Adame

Jesse Adame 83 of Port Lavaca passed away January 3, 2016. He was born April 11, 1932 in Long Mott to the late Zaragosa and Josephine Hernandez Adame. Mr. Adame retired from Union Carbide in 1985 after 30 years of service. He also worked for the City of Port Lavaca as an Electrical City Inspector, Testenger, G & W Engineering and Jesse Adame Electrical Services. Jesse enjoyed, pool, golf, baseball and was a great BBQ’er. He also organized and started the first Calhoun County Free Thanksgiving Dinner in 1988 and has continued it for 27 years. Mr. Adame was a member of Our Lady of The Gulf Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Calzada Adame of Port Lavaca; children, Alfred Adame, Jon Adame of Port Lavaca, Joy Adame (Joe Almogabar) of Hutto and Rachel Adame Nichols (Mike) of Port Lavaca; brother, Rudy Adame of Port Lavaca; grandchildren, Cody Adame (Katy) of Victoria, Christopher Garcia of League City, Michael Garcia, Jason Haubert, Sr. (Jennifer), Jonathan Haubert of Port Lavaca, Rebekah Almogabar of Hutto, Victoria Almogabar of Round Rock, Heaven Hart of Hutto, Eric Almogabar (Katy) of San Antonio, Jennifer Almogabar of Greenville, SC, Rachel Almogabar of Simpsonville, SC, Carlos Barrera, Jr. (Kristin Rendon), Jennifer Barrera (Cesar Osornia)of Port Lavaca, Dustin Nichols (Jennifer) of Victoria and Heather Nichols Jowers (Ramie)of Brunswick, GA; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Jesse was preceded in death by his daughter Rebecca Adame; brothers, Alonzo, John Sr., Amando, Robert and Joe Adame.

A rosary will be held Friday, January 15, 2016 at 7 p.m. at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, January 16, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Port Lavaca Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Calhoun County Area Free Turkey Dinner, 78 Adame Lane, Port Lavaca, TX 77979.
