Charles Edward Peters, age 86, of Port Lavaca, Texas passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024. Visitation will be held Monday, October 21, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home, with funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Charles was born March 16, 1938 to the late Joe and Melba Peters in Falfurrias, Texas. He was drafted into the United States Army and worked for the post office. After his military service, he came home and started working for his uncle at Moore and Canion Insurance Agency. He became the owner of the insurance agency and worked there until 1988. He also owned Air, Land and Sea Services that helped salvage shrimp boats when they got stuck. After he retired, him and Karen traveled to Arizona during the winter and hunted for gold and rode ATVS. They also rode motorcycles in Big Bend.
Charles is survived by his spouse, Karen Clawson. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe V. Peters and his mother, Melba Jackson Peters.
