Rose Villano, age 97, of Mount Sinai, New York passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023. She was always giving to others, particularly the less fortunate. She was active with Infant Jesus Church, making rosary beads for prisoners and little beanie hats for babies in need. Rose loved to crochet and belonged to the Stony Brook Blankets for Vets and also the Happy Hookers Crochet Club. She enjoyed outings with the Red Hats and loved clamming on her trips to Little Africa. At home, sounds of Italian music filled the hallways as did the mouth watering aromas that came from the kitchen since Sundays were for family dinners. And it wasn't just immediate family, but eighty-five guests at a time. In the summer,everyone gathered for her pig roasts at the Big Family Barbeque. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Rose is predeceased by her beloved husband, Antonio and her son Frank Villano. She is survived by her loving children Marianna Cucchi (Gary), Genevieve Villano and Anthony Villano (Elaine). Cherished grandma to seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A visitation for Rose will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, 4839 Nesconset Hwy, Port Jefferson Station, New York 11776. A mass of christian burial will occur Friday, November 3, 2023 10 at 10 AM at Infant Jesus RC Church, 110 Myrtle Ave, Port Jefferson, New York 11777. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York 11785.
