Frank Posillico Jr., 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Stony Brook VA Home. Frank was born March 24, 1930 to Frank Posillico Sr. and Rose (Zaino) Posillico in Wesbury, New York, one of six children to include Jimmy, Larry, Elizabeth, Dominic and Joey. He graduated St. Brigid's in 1946.
Frank served as a Medic in the US Army during the Korean War from 1949-1952. On September 19, 1953 he married Josephine DeFilippis. They were together for 63 years. Josephine passed in 2016.
In 1952, Frank began working for Grumman Aerospace Corporation in both Bethpage and Calverton. He supervised the assembly of F9F Panther, A6 Intruder, F-11 Tiger, F-14 Tomcat and Apollo Luna Module. He retired from Grumman in 1990 with 38 years of service. After retirement, Frank and Josephine moved to Florida where he enjoyed golfing and bocce with his buddies.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Joanne and Mary; sons, Frank and Vinny; grandchildren, Michael, Danielle, Jayne Marie, Jeff, Jody and Fran; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Frank Posillico Jr. will be postponed until travel restrictions are lifted due to family residing out of state. At that time the family will have a dedication ceremony.
