Diane Susan Carneiro was a loving mother, adored daughter, supportive sister, loving aunt, and loyal friend who left this world both prematurely and suddenly, yet peacefully in her sleep, on December 4, 2022.
She will always be remembered fondly and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. From her sincere and gracious bond with her parents and in-laws, to fostering values, manners, and an undying sense of humanitarianism in her children, Diane left a permanent mark on those around her. She leaves behind a legacy that will live on through her three children who will instill these selfless values and traditions into their children.
Diane was a stay-at-home mother, which was a role she truly loved. As a caregiver to those in need, she tirelessly and selflessly always put the needs of others ahead of hers. Those who knew Diane, knew that she was always there for them at any time. Her enormous heart, hilarity and good nature made her magnetically charming and unforgettable. Diane loved to play mahjong, she enjoyed running, taking long walks in her favorite place, NYC, loved boating and was also a shopping enthusiast. Most of all, she was a true “Fanilow” and was 100% certain that she would meet Barry Manilow before his final concert. Her endless affection and generosity, steadfast support, unwavering loyalty, unshakable grace under pressure and overwhelming universal kindness for anyone in her orbit are all testament of her ability to light up every room she entered.
Born to Joel and Lorraine Rosen on July 1, 1965, she was raised in Rockaway, NJ with her sister Darlene Rosen and brother Glen Rosen, both of whom she always shared a loving and close relationship with.
Diane met and married her beloved late husband, Robert Carneiro in 1995. They settled down in Mt Sinai, NY and had three children: Robert II, Michael, and Victoria, all of whom she loved to the “moon and back”. After the devastating loss of her husband and years later, Diane reconnected with a high school friend, George Strother IV. This friendship grew into a love affair and helped her live the best rest of her life that she could have asked for.
Her surviving family includes her father Joel and his girlfriend Eva, her Mother Lorraine, her sister Darlene, and her brother Glen and his girlfriend Kim, Aunts Gloria, Nelly and Roberta, Uncle Bill, her adored children Robert II, Michael and Victoria and Michael’s girlfriend Sydny as well as numerous cousins. She was the cherished daughter-in-law of Carlos and Ana Carneiro, and sister-in-law to Sidney and his wife Ellie, and Wilson and his wife Melissa; and was a dear aunt to Jaime LaChapelle and her boyfriend Daniel Chesley, Nicholas Carneiro, Jonathan Carneiro, Benjamin Carneiro, Celine Carneiro and Charles Carneiro. She is also survived by her boyfriend George Strother IV, his children Julia and Michael, his fiancé Gabby Tharku, parents George III and Patricia.
A celebration of her life will be held at Watermill Caterers, 711 Smithtown Bypass, Smithtown, NY on Sunday, December 11, 2022 from 11:00am to 2:30p.m.
