Steven James, 65, of Binghamton, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents Grace & Ralph B. James II, brothers Paul and Ralph “Bucky”, uncle Robert Lewis James III.
He is survived by his loving brother and sister-in-law Robert “Bob” L. and Anna L. James; sister Theresa Jerome and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Steven loved Burger King, watching channel 2 soaps and news, a cat in his lap, family picnics and all of the food at them.
He worked at CVI for many years and enjoyed parties with his coworkers. He was a proud member of the Main Street Baptist Church in Binghamton, NY.
Steven enjoyed his Saturday outings with his brother Bob. He was known as “Uncle Stevie” to his nieces and nephews, all of whom enjoyed playing board games and yard games with him. His laugh was infectious and will be missed dearly by his family.
The family would like to extend a great thanks to Jodi, Hede and the staff at Unity House in Ithaca, NY, for their great care of Steven in the years he resided there.
The family will receive friends at the Main Street Baptist Church, 117 Main Street, Binghamton on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 11 AM-12 PM with a Memorial Service to follow at 12 PM. Burial will be in the Chenango Valley Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions to the Broome County Humane Society, 167 Conklin Ave, Binghamton, NY 13903.
