He was predeceased by his wife Beverley Rex. He is survived by his children Debbie Harsh (Kris), Rick Rex (Abby), Kenny Rex (Kathy), Michael Rex (Chrissy) and his grandchildren Jennifer Harsh, Sara Harsh, Dylan Harsh, Alexa Harsh, Chelsea Ulrich and Zoe Rex, great grandchildren Brynn Harsh, Kainn Pahucki, Kaia Pahucki, Hayden Pahucki, Adela Harsh and Gia Harsh and many nieces and nephews including special nephews Jack Hurchla and Chuck Forkey. Richard retired from the Binghamton Psychiatric Center after many years of service, then went on to work for Catholic Charities as the Director of the Four Seasons Club. He loved horseshoes, camping and woodworking but most of all his family.
The family will receive friends at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 12pm-1pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 1pm. A Private Burial will be held in the Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
